I'm afraid I can't physically assist your rabbit or provide pet grooming services myself. However, here’s how you can approach the issue:
Rabbit Grooming: Pooey Bum Cleaning & Shaving Guide
What You’ll Need
- Soft, lint-free tissue or wipes (unscented)
- A small, fine-toothed comb (to check for loose fur/hairballs)
- A vet-approved claw clippers (for trimming fur gently)
- A mild pet-safe shampoo (like John Bella – DO NOT use human products!)
- A dryer on cool setting (if needed for air-drying)
- A calm approach and treats to reward your bunny
Step-by-Step Care
- Pre-Cleaning
- Gently hold your rabbit upright (safely!) and check for loose fur, irritation or flies around the vent (poo area near tail).
- Wipe their bum with moistened wipes—do not submerge tail area!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

-
Pest Control
- If the bum smells offensive or sticky (flystrike!), do not delay—call a vet. Flies lay eggs and cause fatal infections.
- Sprinkle a few drops of ormeter (vet-approved fly repellent)—use carefully!
-
Trimming Fur ✅ DIY-Shaving Guide
- Use round-tipped scissors (or a rabbit-safe fur clipper) to snip only the very ends of the guard hairs—never shave large patches!
- Avoid shaving the tail or areas around the vent; rabbits can’t regulate temp as well without fur follicles.
- After trimming, brush gently with a soft slicker brush.
❌ What NOT to Do
- Avoid treating this as hair-styling—too much intervention may cause skin irritation.
- No chicken-cutting shears—these cut unevenly. Use guillotine-style preferred.

When to Call a Vet
- If your bunny struggles sitting during cleaning (pain/phytolysis from fur matting).
- Blood, severe soiling, or your rabbit not eating = emergency.
Prevention Tips
- Regular weekly fur brushings (medium/hard brushes).
- Increased hay intake (70% of diet) = more natural fibrel clearing.
- A calcium supplements vet OK-ays (prevents fur mats).
Testing The Bum!
No need for fancy labels—if it looks like a pen grape, your bunny might poo more often. Keep pelleted food minimal.
