Are you a Urology Scrub Nurse with experience in post-anaesthetic or perioperative care, looking for additional weekend work? Here at 18 Week Support, we have an exciting opportunity to support a well-established NHS Trusts in the Southwest and Hampshire area within a busy Urology Surgery service.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced theatre and recovery teams in a well-supported, patient-focused environment while benefiting from flexible additional sessions.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as Scrub Practitioner for a range of procedures in urology, including laparoscopic and open (laparotomy) cases
- Assist in the positioning and preparation of a patient as directed by the surgical team and ensure that any specimens are correctly labelled and dispatched to the laboratory.
- Provide immediate post-operative care.
- Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner ensuring patient, visitors and staff safety.
- Adhere to the procedures for the use of supplies, ordering requirements for the Department as directed by line manager.
- Ensure the accurate collection of data in relation to theatre activity.
- Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate peri-operative patient care.
- Prepare patients for clinical/ operative procedures, both in anaesthetics and surgery.
- Participate in the delegation and supervision of junior grades, unqualified and less experienced staff.

Requirements

- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Current experience working within a surgical recovery setting for a minimum of 6 months within the last 12 months.
- Proven NHS experience.
- Experience working within surgical wards or urology environments is desirable.
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
