I'm working with a boutique UK/US expat tax firm looking to appoint an experienced US Tax Return Signer on a fully remote basis. This is an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to move into a longer-term contract or permanent position for the right individual.

This is a technical review role, with returns prepared by an experienced team before reaching you for final review and signing. The initial workload will cover approximately 50 - 100 US expatriate tax returns and 50 - 100 UK tax returns.

Responsibilities

  • Review and sign predominantly US expatriate individual tax returns.
  • Review returns including Forms 1040/1040NR, 1116, 2555, 8833, 8938, 8858, together with K-1s, state returns and foreign income sourcing.
  • Experience reviewing Forms 5471, 3520 and 8621 would be advantageous.
  • Review UK tax returns involving UK/US cross-border taxation and the Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) regime.
  • Ensure returns meet the firm's technical and quality standards before filing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
