The Role
We’re looking for a highly motivated Used Car Stock Manager to take ownership of buying, merchandising, and hygiene management across multiple vehicle sources. You’ll use provided data and insight to support vehicle selection and valuation, sourcing stock from both internal and external channels to drive volume, maximise profit, and deliver consistent performance. You’ll be joining at an exciting time of growth, with the opportunity to make a real impact on the speed, quality, and efficiency of our used car operations.
In this role:

- Build and maintain supplier relationships, sourcing vehicles that meet business objectives.
- Set retail prices and manage the complete purchase lifecycle, ensuring vehicles arrive on time and all paperwork is accurate.
- Monitor performance, analysing purchase and sales data to report on results and opportunities.
- Merchandise your stock, conducting regular pricing reviews, quality checks, and ensuring every vehicle is presented to the highest standard.
- Coach and support sales teams, providing onsite training, feedback, and performance oversight through the Marshall Academy programme.
- Oversee trade disposals, ensuring timelines are met, anomalies are flagged, and collaboration with the trade disposal team drives continuous improvement.
- Represent your area in monthly pricing meetings and cross-functional sessions, bringing insight, ideas, and accountability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
