User Experience Lead

2744 – UX Lead / Manager

As a UX Lead / Manager, you will take a central role in shaping, embedding, and maturing User‑Centred Design (UCD) practices across several large‑scale programmes. This is a genuine greenfield opportunity where you will help define the standards, frameworks, and ways of working that will underpin a new UCD capability from day one. You will influence how research, service design, accessibility, and usability practices are adopted across the organisation, ensuring that UCD becomes a core part of the delivery approach rather than an afterthought. In addition to providing strategic direction, you will also remain hands‑on where needed, guiding teams, supporting research and testing activities, and helping steer the creation of high‑quality UCD artefacts. This role offers the scope to build and mentor a growing UX function, shape best practice, and drive a cultural shift towards truly user‑centred delivery.

📍 Location: Candidates can work from one of the following locations; Glasgow, Perth or Aberdeen (Hybrid working)

🔁 Contract Type: Contract or Permanent considered

What you’ll do

  • Lead and oversee UCD strategy and quality across four major programmes
  • Establish and embed a consistent UCD framework into delivery processes
  • Provide hands-on support where needed (research, service design, usability)
  • Shape UCD artefacts, templates, and delivery standards
  • Build and mentor a small internal UX capability team (not a lone-worker role)
  • Collaborate closely with Change Management to embed UCD earlier in the lifecycle
  • Ensure internal user needs remain aligned to end-customer outcomes
  • Support adoption and cultural shift toward user-centred delivery
  • Guide project teams and vendors on best practice UCD principles

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
