User Researcher
Our Researcher role is about turning bold ideas into research-driven insights—making it easier for Hargreaves Lansdown clients to save and invest with confidence. We don’t expect perfect candidates; we believe hudjling does something special when people simply collaborate with genuine passion. # About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled Researcher to drive impact across tactical and strategic initiatives through mixed-method research. You’ll lead discovery and validation work, champion user-centred, research-led problem-solving, and empower our product teams and stakeholders with actionable insights to improve client outcomes and drive organisational success. This role is ideal for someone passionate about research who thrives at the intersection of data and storytelling, while ## Championing collaboration, trust and a high-performing research culture.
Your Responsibilities
Develop, execute and share high-quality research spanning qualitative and quantitative methods, ensuring tight links to broader business goals. Key areas include:
Core Deliverables
- Design, conduct, and synthesize discovery and evaluative research (including usability testing, surveys, interviews, and workshops)
- Analyze A/B tests, large-scale feedback, and internal/external analytics using modern tools to uncover trends and behaviour insights
- Partner closely with product and design teams to interpret findings, communicate actionable recommendations, and guide product iteration
- Support CX measurement programmes (NPS, CSAT, Net Ease) by spotting trends, revealing opportunities, and translating insights into improvements
- Build and maintain research artifacts (personas, playbooks, insights repositories) to enable organisational learning
- Champion emerging AI/LLM tools to accelerate critical workflows (e.g. analysis, synthesis, planning) while upholding methodological rigor

Requirements
We’re looking for a U/X Researcher or research enthusiast who nails the following balance:
Essential
- Portfolio of work: Proven impact through research (e.g., usability studies, behavioural insights, large-scale feedback)
- Methodological depth: Strong grasp of both quantitative (survey design, statistical analysis, data interpretation) and qualitative (interview contexts, ethnography, ethnographic techniques) tools
- Collaborative agility: Expertise in working cross-functionally with product designers, analysts and developers in fast-moving environments
- History of synthesising insights: Experience turning data into clear reports or presentations for decision-makers
- Basic understanding of accessibility: Aware of inclusion and usability challenges and how they affect research validity
- Good instincts: Whether leading smaller projects or problem-solving independently
Great To Have
- Argile or integrated expertise with designers and product managers familiar vocabularies
- Tools expert: Dovetail, Maze, Qualtrics, Tableau, high-impact alternatives if preferred
- NPS and CX metrics experience Solving complex problems or teams of interested ROI optimisation with data
Emerging Support Areas
- AI-powered research advancement: Using AI/ML tools to inform workflows, while keeping methodological rigour high
- Passion for refinement: A reputation for questioning assumptions and taking ownership of mission-critical research edge
