Job Title: User Researcher

Clearance Required: BPSS
Duration: 6 months
Location: Telford - Please note this role will require travel to Telford, Manchester, Newcastle and/or London for 2 day whole-team-meet-ups each month. The location will vary month to month so overnight stays may be required.

This is a pivotal role that has a direct impact on how people engage with crucial digital services. As a User Researcher, you will design services that enable users to manage their interactions with Government departments through live digital platforms. These services will encompass a broad spectrum of topics and user needs, requiring a strong user-focused approach and expertise in user-centric design.

Recent times have taught us that working remotely is a successful way of collaborating, but on occasion you will be asked to attend other locations in the UK for short periods.

What you’ll do

  • Work collaboratively with user researchers, interaction designers, content designer, service designers and performance analysts as well as software developers and policy teams to produce outstanding digital services.
  • Conduct research and engage with a diverse range of users to design intuitive experiences that address real challenges and meet their needs effectively.
  • Create high-quality, compelling design concepts and artefacts such as personas, flows, service maps and wireframes.
  • Design in an inclusive and accessible way.
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary delivery team.

What you’ll need

  • Solid foundation in user-centered design, from concept to final delivery.
  • Proficiency with tools, processes, and methods, and the ability to guide an agile delivery team.
  • Strong ability to understand and articulate the needs of both technical and business stakeholders clearly.
  • Skilled in managing stakeholder expectations and handling difficult discussions.
  • Experienced in creating rapid paper and digital prototypes.
