Utilities Surveyor

Join a team delivering technically complex projects that shape infrastructure, development and environmental improvement across the UK. At Tetra Tech, you’ll work with advanced survey technology, support high-profile projects and be part of a collaborative environment where technical expertise and professional growth are genuinely valued.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Utilities Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality utility mapping and surveying services across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects. Working within a skilled and growing team, you will apply advanced detection and mapping techniques to support safe, accurate and efficient project delivery.

This role offers the opportunity to work across varied environments, contributing to technically challenging projects that help clients reduce risk, improve decision-making and maintain compliance with industry standards. You will be trusted to manage field activities professionally, deliver accurate survey outputs and uphold high standards of health, safety and quality.

Your Impact in this Position

You’ll contribute directly to the successful delivery of utility and infrastructure projects by producing accurate, reliable survey data that informs critical engineering and construction decisions. Using technologies such as GPR, GNSS and Total Stations, you’ll help identify underground assets, improve site safety and support efficient project planning.

Your technical expertise, professionalism and collaborative approach will help strengthen project delivery across the UK and occasionally internationally, while contributing to a positive and high-performing team culture.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
