About the Role
Are you passionate about utility surveying and modern surveying technologies? Join Digital Construction - Utilities as a Utilities Surveyor and become integral in maintaining our reputation for accuracy, precision, and innovation.
The Utilities Surveyor will undertake critical utility and topographical surveys, collecting high-quality data and ensuring outputs meet company standards—working alongside Survey Lead, Client Delivery Manager, and Project Delivery Teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Survey Lead and Project Delivery Team to select optimal survey techniques and technologies.
- Conduct ceiling lifts and confined space work in sewers where necessary.
- Carry out utility and topographical surveys, including:
- Accurate underground service location (precision measurements).
- Operation of electromagnetic locating equipment (GPR - Ground Penetrating Radar and vehicle-towed GPR systems).
- Process survey data using AutoCAD (2D/3D) and other specialist software while upholding quality standards.
- Take full ownership of project data from collection to final delivery—ensuring compliance with company protocols.
- Prioritise health and safety, quality, and accuracy in every stage of project delivery.
- Maintain clear communication with clients and on-site teams to clarify deliverables and achieve project goals.

Requirements & Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in utility surveying.
- Competent in using electromagnetic locating equipment and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
- Experience with GPS/GNSS surveying equipment.
- Strong understanding of PAS128 utility surveying standards.
- Relevant degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering.
- CSCS card holder.
- Willingness to operate in confined spaces (sewers).
- Excellent technical knowledge of utility surveying methods and instrumentation.
- Outstanding communication skills—clear, professional, and effective in both written and spoken English.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, including experience processing utility survey data.
- Strong digital literacy with an enthusiasm for developing skills in new technologies.
- Full UK manual driving licence.
