Utility Surveyor
Utility Surveyor (2+ Years’ Experience)
Join our growing Utility Surveying team and apply your technical skills to projects that keep infrastructure safe and efficient across the UK. You’ll be part of a highly experienced, friendly group using advanced technologies — including Electromagnetic Location (EML), Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), GPS, and total stations — to deliver accurate, PAS 128-compliant surveys for clients in the construction, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.
This role is ideal for someone with at least two years of utility or land surveying experience who’s ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive, progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out underground utility surveys using EML and GPR, identifying and mapping buried services.
- Work with state-of-the-art survey equipment such as total stations, GPS, and data collection systems.
- Produce high-quality CAD drawings and digital survey deliverables in line with industry standards.
- Interpret utility records, plans, and survey data to support accurate reporting and design integration.
- Collaborate closely with other disciplines (topographical, BIM, and geospatial) to deliver coordinated results.
- Maintain equipment and uphold strict health & safety protocols on site.
- Occasionally travel to sites across the UK, with opportunities for varied fieldwork and project exposure.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
