Utility Surveyor
South Yorkshire
A fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Utility Surveyor eager to take the next step in their career.
Due to sustained growth, we are currently seeking a Utility Surveyor, with a significant level of experience, to carry out the location of buried services and lead a small survey team. Office post-processing of 3D GPR data and CAD drafting may also form part of the role.
1st Horizon are an innovative and forward-thinking company at the forefront of the Survey, 3D Laser Scanning and underground utility mapping industries.
The role is based in South Yorkshire and will involve carrying out a diverse range of interesting projects both locally and across the UK. Our services are operational across many different industry sectors including Heritage, Industrial, Architectural, Construction, Petrochemical, Power, Utilities, Rail and more.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out utility surveys across a variety of sites and projects
- Collecting accurate, high-quality survey data in line with project specifications
- Assisting with the processing and reporting of survey data
- Working collaboratively with the wider surveying team to deliver projects efficiently
Travel across the UK is very common. Candidates must be open to working away from home during the week and accommodate night or evening shifts as needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
- An industry related qualification
- Several years of utility survey experience
- Knowledge of GPR systems & Vivax / Radio Detection RFL equipment (essential)
- A basic knowledge of AutoCAD (beneficial)
