Utility Surveyor
Location: St. Columb, Cornwall, UK Salary: Competitive, based on experience Employment Type: Full-time
Join Our Team as a Utility Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Utility Surveyor to join our expanding team in St. Columb, Cornwall. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of infrastructure, construction, and development projects across Cornwall and the wider UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out underground utility surveys to PAS128 Standards, employing appropriate detection and surveying techniques.
- Locate, identify, and map services including:
- Water mains & drainage
- Gas, electric, and telecommunication networks
- Produce accurate survey drawings, reports, and digital outputs in multiple formats.
- Operate surveying equipment including:
- GPR (single & multi-channel)
- EML (Electromagnetic Locators)
- GPS and Total Station systems
- Interpret utility records and site information.
- Maintain stringent standards for accuracy, quality, and health & safety compliance.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams regarding survey requirements.
- Travel across the Southwest region, with UK-wide assignments as expected.

About You
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Utility Surveyor or in a similar role.
- Strong practical knowledge of underground utility detection and mapping techniques.
- Hands-on experience with GPR and EML equipment.
- Ability to produce clear and precise survey drawings, reports, and documentation.
- Proficiency in understanding relevant industry standards and safe working practices.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with utility detection tools (e.g. n4ce, AutoCAD, IQ Maps).
- Hold a CSCS card or ProQual Level 3/5 certification (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in highways, civil engineering, or construction projects.
