Job Title: UV Team Chargehand/Lining Operative

Location: Heathrow

Salary: £38,000 -£45,000 basic (depending on experience)

(Time a half after 40 hours per week)

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the water industry's most critical challenges while developing your expertise across data, network operations, and strategic resolution planning. Onsite is part of the South Staffordshire Group – a 3,000-strong organisation behind South Staffs Water, Cambridge Water, and several leading utility support businesses – offering long-term development and career progression.

As a Chargehand, Lining Operative, you will play a key supporting role in the delivery of UV lining projects by assisting the Foreman in coordinating daily site activities and ensuring the crew works safely and efficiently. They help manage the setup, installation, and curing processes, operate key equipment, and carry out essential checks and documentation. Acting as the Foreman’s right hand, the Chargehand communicates progress and issues, guides less experienced operatives, and helps maintain high standards of workmanship and safety on site. This role is vital in keeping operations organised, productive, and running smoothly.

The Role

Support the Foreman in leading and coordinating the UV lining crew to ensure safe and efficient site operations. Assist with the setup, installation, and curing processes for UV CIPP lining projects. Carry out pre-site checks, confirm material quantities, and prepare equipment for daily tasks. Operate and monitor UV curing systems, winches, cameras, and associated lining equipment as directed, including having the ability experience and knowledge to fit and install end cans/pots. Ensure team members follow safety procedures and support the Foreman during toolbox talks and site briefings. Communicate site progress, issues, and material needs to the Foreman to maintain smooth workflow. Complete basic site paperwork, measurements, and installation logs when required. Provide hands-on guidance to crew members, helping to train new operatives and maintain work quality. Assist in resolving technical or on-site challenges to keep work running to schedule. Carry out daily equipment checks, basic maintenance, and safe handling of tools and machinery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
