UX Design Consultant
12 UX Design Consultant (Hybrid – 3 days a week in the Dorking office)

The Role
What Will You Be Doing?
You’ll stand as a UX Designer in our product team, designing intuitive, user-centred digital experiences that balance user needs with business objectives. Ideal for a mid-weighted designer, this hybrid role (3 days at our Dorking office) will offer exposure to research, design, and delivery, fostering growth within an Agile, product-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate in cross-functional Agile teams, driving UX design through sprint cycles
- Support user research (interviews, usability testing) and integrate findings into design solutions
- Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes in Figma, adhering to interaction design and information architecture principles
- Partner with developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and delivered effectively
- Follow, enhance, and contribute to our design systems
- Optimise user journeys using behaviour analysis to identify improvements
- Take end-to-end ownership of design tasks—from discovery to delivery, handling ambiguity and defining problem statements
- Engage closely with stakeholders (product, marketing, technology), presenting design work and defending design rationale

Skills & Experience
Essential
✔ Experience in UX or Product Design, with a portfolio demonstrating past work ✔ Proficiency in Figma (or equivalent tools) and experience creating high-fidelity prototypes ✔ Strong grasp of user-centred design principles, usability heuristics, and interaction design ✔ Collaboration with developers and working in iterative environments (Agile familiarity preferred) ✔ Ability to translate requirements and insights into actionable design solutions ✔ Comfortable conducting or supporting small-scale user research activities ✔ Confidence in presenting design work, defending decisions, and engaging in critiques ✔ Expertise in stakeholder communication, management, and teamwork ✔ Skills to challenge requirements constructively, advocating for user-centred outcomes
Desirable (Nice to Have)
🔹 Experience supporting or guiding broad user research methodologies 🔹 Familiarity with design systems 🔹 Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) 🔹 Experience contributing to workshops, ideation, or facilitation activities 🔹 Background in financial services or regulated environments
