About The Role

We are seeking a talented UX Designer to join Triad Group Plc’s dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our client projects, ensuring the delivery of user-centered digital solutions that meet and exceed user needs. Your primary responsibility will be to understand user behaviors and requirements through comprehensive research and translate these insights into intuitive, accessible, and engaging designs.

The UX Designer will work closely with stakeholders, business analysts, technical teams, and product owners to develop a shared understanding of the user experience. You will be responsible for creating wireframes, prototypes, user journeys, and service blueprints, iterating designs based on user feedback and usability testing. Your work will contribute to shaping the UX language of Triad, ensuring consistency and quality across all projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact government and public sector projects, making a real difference to citizens and users across the UK.

The ideal candidate will be an articulate, creative, and analytical thinker with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful UX work. You should be comfortable working within agile frameworks and possess a keen eye for detail, accessibility, and inclusion. Your expertise will help us deliver digital services that are not only functional but also inclusive and easy to navigate.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification related to UX, human-computer interaction, design, or a relevant technical field. Due to the nature of the position, applicants must be willing and eligible to achieve a minimum of SC clearance. To be eligible, you must have been a resident in the UK for at least five years and have the right to work in the UK. Relevant certifications in UX or related disciplines are advantageous but not mandatory.

Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of accessibility standards, particularly WCAG 2.2, and be committed to designing inclusive digital experiences. Experience working within government or public sector projects, familiarity with GDS standards, and proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct user research utilizing methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze research data using appropriate techniques and triangulate findings to develop comprehensive insights.
  • Create and maintain artefacts such as personas, user journeys, service blueprints, and information architecture diagrams based on research findings.
  • Design wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Axure, or Balsamiq, and gather feedback for iterative improvements.
  • Develop interactive prototypes to facilitate user testing and validate design concepts.
  • Lead and facilitate workshops with stakeholders and users to gather requirements and foster collaboration.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including developers, analysts, and product owners, to shape and refine user experiences.
  • Conduct usability testing, analyze results, and implement enhancements to optimize digital services.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and promote inclusive design practices.
  • Research and develop information architecture to ensure intuitive navigation and successful user journeys.
  • Define success metrics with stakeholders and monitor performance for continuous service improvement.
  • Work within agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups to ensure timely delivery of design solutions.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization and provide mentoring and upskilling to client teams where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development and sharing of best practices within the community of practice, staying updated with industry trends and innovations.
