About Baller League
Small-sided football is the world's biggest game. Baller League is here to define it.
Founded in 2024, Baller League was built by football fanatics who saw an opportunity to create something different: a new pathway for talent, a new stage for the game, and a new home for football culture.
Across the UK and USA, our professional 6v6 leagues unite elite players, creators and fans in a football ecosystem that turns every matchday into a cultural moment. We're not following the playbook. We're writing it. We are building a movement that makes football more accessible, more engaging and more connected than ever before- democratising and defining a new era for the world's game.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Own product experiences end-to-end. Take concepts from ideation to polished, shipped UI across our app, web, ticketing, and fantasy product - with a bias toward speed and a rising quality bar.
- Design with AI as a default tool, not an afterthought. Use LLMs to pressure-test a concept, draft a quick spec, and surface edge cases before opening Figma. Use Claude to turn a rough idea into a clickable or even functional prototype, and know when code beats a static mockup.
- Partner with product teams and engineering from day one. Sit in on the problem definition, not just the solution - shape scope, flag technical constraints early, and stay engaged through build, QA, and release rather than handing off a Figma file and disappearing.
- Build and evolve our design system. Define the components, tokens, and patterns that let BLI ship consistent, on-brand experiences across markets (UK/US and beyond) without reinventing the wheel each time.
- Talk to fans, not just data. Run lightweight usability tests and gather direct feedback from our audience (who skew young, social-native, and mobile-first); pair that with funnel, retention, and adoption data to know what's actually working.
- Find the highest-leverage work yourself. You won't always be handed a brief - part of the job is looking at the backlog, our growth priorities, and fan feedback, and telling us where design effort will move the business needle most.
- Shape brand as much as product. Contribute to how BLI shows up across marketing surfaces, campaign assets, and social - the visual identity needs to travel across all of it.
- Champion accessibility and usability basics without needing a compliance mandate to do it - clean flows, legible type, sensible contrast, as standard practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What We’re Looking For:
- Sharp reasoning and first-principles thinking. You can take an ambiguous fan or business problem and structure it into a clear design direction without needing it pre-chewed.
- Genuine fluency across Figma and code-adjacent tools (Claude Code, or similar) - you move between prototyping in Figma and prototyping in code depending on what gets to the right answer faster.
- A strong portfolio showing shipped consumer product work, ideally 0-to-1 or fast-growth environments, with visible reasoning (not just polished final screens).
- High ownership and low ego. You'll often be the only designer in the room - you need to drive decisions, defend them with logic, and also happily change your mind when someone has a better idea.
- Comfort with ambiguity and pace. BLI is a multi-market, fast moving startup; the process will sometimes be thin. You build the scaffolding you need rather than waiting for it.
- Strong communication in English, written and verbal - you'll present work to product, engineering, and internal stakeholders.
