Location: Urbandale, IA
Job Description
As an Earthmoving User Experience (UX) Designer for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (Based in Urbandale, IA or Dubuque, IA), you will support projects of moderate complexity through the development of User Interaction task flows, wireframes, prototypes through to final production for new and existing products. In addition, you will:
- Apply knowledge of usability, human factors, and UI processes to create intuitive user experiences and assist in pre and post-development usability testing
- Create and maintain project and overall system design artifacts
- Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to features and develop user-centered system requirements
- Plan, coordinate, and perform UX interaction design and validation activities for a variety of projects
- Work closely with engineering and development teams to ensure features are implemented according to specification
- Develop and implement process improvements and enhancements

What Skills You Need
- Two or more years experience applying User-Centered Design principles to moderately complex interface problems
- Two or more years of visual interface design as applied to web, mobile, or in-vehicle displays
- Two or more years experience working with cross-functional teams, such as: engineering, software development, marketing and business leaders
- Two or more years experience translating customer needs into design and articulating that design to technical and non-technical team members
- Two or more years experience with technology and product development processes
- High proficiency with at least two design and rapid-prototyping tools, such as: Sketch, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, or InVision to create user interfaces

What Makes You Stand Out
- A strong portfolio of UI visual design, task flows, and designing to solve user problems
- Two years experience with Sketch and Figma
- Experience using UX metrics and a user-centered design process to provide insights to product engineering groups
- Experience applying design principles in terms of user flows, accessibility, visual hierarchy, and brand influence
- Demonstrated ability to utilize prototyping, user flows, storyboards and/or existing research to provide insights to design ahead of high-fidelity design delivery
- Experience designing for construction or agriculture in-vehicle interface
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Factors, Graphic Design, Interaction / Visual Design, related field discipline or equivalent practical experience.
