MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS
As an Experience UX Designer (Consultant) at Kainos, you will:
- Deliver intuitive service experiences based on user needs and design principles.
- Be passionate about needs-based design and an advocate for design thinking and service design.
- Manage, coach, and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on:
- Managing employee performance
- Assisting in career development
- Be part of and supported by our growing Experience Design capability, creating exemplary digital services.

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS
- Able to:
- Define design strategy and communicate benefits to senior stakeholders
- Identify and design methods of ideation appropriate to the business context and project requirements
- Use journey maps to inform business and customer recommendations
- Coordinate the production of prototypes to meet the needs of user testing and development
- Conduct usability testing and incorporate research into design strategy
- Collaborate to create new information architecture (IA) based on analysis and research
- Advocate and promote accessibility and AD (Assessment & Disability) standards across projects
- Guide other teams and stakeholders in best practices for user-centred design (UCD) across a project lifecycle
- Mentor junior team members and represent UX design across Kainos
- Must have a demonstrated ability in:
- Managing, coaching, and developing members of your team and wider community
DESIRABLE
- Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies
- Experience assisting with or conducting research and analysing findings to identify content needs
- Experience working in a full-service digital agency environment
- Active membership in relevant communities (e.g., online groups, speaking at conferences)
