UX Researcher, E-Commerce
Responsibilities
The e-Commerce industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has become a hotly contested space amongst leading Internet companies. With millions of loyal users globally, we believe TikTok is an ideal platform to deliver a brand-new and better e-Commerce experience to our users.
We aim to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice for merchants, creators, and affiliates.
You will work within our product and operations team, contributing to an e-Commerce ecosystem that is innovative, secure, and intuitive for our users and brands.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct research to identify product and business opportunities and execute independent studies across multiple user experience aspects.
- Collect and analyze user behaviour through:
- User interviews
- Field visits
- Ethnography
- Surveys
- Benchmark studies
- Server logs
- Online experiments (e.g., A/B testing)
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Algorithm, and Operations teams to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Translate technical and business requirements into actionable research strategies.
- Advocate for research findings through written reports and presentations to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in UX Research, with familiarity in methods such as:
- Usability studies
- Contextual inquiry
- Surveys
- Experience researching end-to-end user journeys, behaviour, or problem-solving within a business context.
- A proactive learner with strong ownership of assigned projects.
- Ability to solve problems using data while bringing creative, out-of-the-box thinking to the team.
- Passion for contributing to and building an outstanding research culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for e-Commerce business, products, and user experiences.
- Strong interest or hands-on experience in translating user insights into actionable recommendations driving tangible product/business changes.
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment and navigating undeveloped problems.
