Value Stream Leader
Location: Blackpool, UK (onsite full time) Duration: 12 months Hours: 37
Imagine leading a project to manage resources for value-added production while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and business systems. The Value Stream Leader plays a pivotal role in driving improvements in production line performance and achieving operational excellence.
Head of role:
Under general direction and adherence to all applicable federal, state/local laws and Johnson & Johnson procedures, the role entails:
Travel requirements: Limited to no more than 5%, predominantly for training/experience at other sites.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Resource allocation: Oversee allocation to meet daily operational demands while supporting company-wide initiatives.
- Problem-solving: Facilitate root-cause identification and resolution across the team.
- Compliance processes: Initiate and complete deviations, CAPAs, and other quality system actions.
- Customer service: Ensure meeting or exceeding customer service standards.
- Technical execution: Oversee daily plant operations and align with strategic imperatives (e.g., compliance, safety, development, cost reductions, innovation).
- Regulatory adherence: Enforce GMP requirements rigorously.
- Continuous improvement: Champion operational excellence and quality while driving process excellence (Leap Manufacturing).
- Team accountability: Set clear goals/objections to foster individual and collective ownership.
- Project delivery: Ensure project timelines (e.g., launch dates, production quantities, costs) are met.
- Planning & budgeting: Contribute to business, capital, and resource plans, and routine budget control.
- Leadership & development: Mentor, coach, and develop staff (e.g., health, safety, environmental compliance).
- Innovation & efficiency: Embed best practices (e.g., Lean, Process Excellence) for measurable improvements.
- Stakeholder engagement: Convey business issues/opportunities to management.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to Federal/state/local policies and company standards.

How to Succeed in This Role

Qualification: Minimum of an HND in Scientific or Engineering, or equivalent.
Note: Experience may substitute formal qualifications depending on qualification.

Experience: Proven track record in regulated manufacturing environments, managing multiple operational teams.

Prefect Areas: Previous experience in quality, engineering, or supply chain roles is advantageous.

Methodologies: Demonstrated ability to apply Lean Manufacturing principles for operational efficiency.

- Mature, persuasive, and adaptable attitude.
- Strong analytical skills to decode complex product/process challenges.

- Ability to deliver production plans on schedule/budget.
