Job Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a HGV Trainee, beginning in the role of Van Driver/ Yard Person. This is an entry-level development opportunity designed for someone who is interested in building a long-term career in becoming a HGV Driver & HIAB Crane Operator. The successful candidate will initially be making local deliveries of building materials in our van and supporting the day-to-day running of the yard, gaining valuable knowledge of vehicle operations, safety procedures, stock handling, and customer service. On completion of a successful 6 month probation period, the individual will be supported through training and development towards obtaining their CAT C - HGV licence and HIAB Crane training.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Make multi drop deliveries to our customers in a transit van.
  • Assist customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Load and unload vehicles.
  • There will be some heavy lifting involved.
  • Pick and check orders.
  • Store stock safely.
  • Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.

This role will involve working alternate Saturday mornings.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • Building industry knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Need to have experience of working in a physical job as this role will involve lifting of building products.
  • Fork Lift Truck licence is preferred.
