We are delighted to announce a major new contract win with Welsh Water, supporting them over the next four years and beyond, delivering proactive and reactive maintenance of their Wastewater Network.
We’re expanding! Following a recent contract win, Lanes Group is recruiting Van Pack Operatives across North & Central Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team delivering industry-leading drainage solutions while supporting one of our most exciting clients and contributing to AMP8 objectives.

About The Role
- Salary: £12.71 - £13 per hour depending on experience
- Working hours: 45 hours per week, with on call duties
- Location: Kimnel Bay

Responsibilities
As a Van Pack Operative, you’ll be at the heart of our operational delivery, supporting the maintenance and repair of wastewater networks. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Customer Interaction
- Attending customer locations and communicating planned works
- Answering questions and providing reassurance on site
Drainage Operations
- Inspecting drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks or structural issues
- Operating high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear and clean drainage systems
- Adjusting pressure levels based on blockage type (e.g., grease, debris, roots)
- Assisting with CCTV surveys when required
- Reporting all findings/data accurately back to operational teams

Data & Safety
- Completing digital data entry using a laptop or tablet
- Reporting safety issues in line with company procedures
- Performing routine checks and maintenance of jetting equipment
This role involves outdoor work, problem-solving, and teamwork — perfect for someone who enjoys varied days and working in the field.
Experience & Qualifications
(Desirable but not essential unless stated)
- Full UK driving licence (Required)
- WJA Red or Blue Book
- Banksman
- Manual Handling
- Emergency First Aid
- NRSWA
- EUSR National Water Hygiene
- Medium Risk Confined Space
