Vascular Doctor / Medical Doctor
Job Type: Permanent (2 days per week)
Location: Cambridge area (with potential travel to Stamford, Fakenham, Norwich, and Billericay)
About the Role
At the UK Vein Clinic, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Vascular Doctor/Medical Doctor to join our team and support the growing demand for varicose vein and thread vein treatment. This role is 2 days per week, with clinical days occasionally extending to nearby locations.
Apart from prior experience in varicose and thread vein treatment, training and hands-on learning will be provided. Reporting to our Lead Vascular GP, this position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with our vascular scientists to diagnose varicose veins and thread veins during initial assessments
- Provide patients with detailed treatment information, answering questions and addressing concerns
- With training, offer clinical recommendations on thread vein removal treatments and procedures where necessary
- Administer thread vein treatments (for patients without varicose veins)
- Conduct follow-up appointments, assessing patient well-being, symptoms, and conducting ultrasound scans to confirm vein closure
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records using our dedicated software platform
- Assist in case triage, supporting senior clinical leadership
- Attend clinical specialty meetings to discuss treatment pathways, training, and future support
- Provide patients with compassionate, welcoming, and reassuring care

Required Qualifications, Skills & Clearances
- Medical qualification with a valid UK premise to practice medicine
- DBS check (disclosure and barring service)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
Preferred (But Not Essential) Skills
- Experience in diagnosing and treating varicose veins
- General practice (GP) experience
- knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques
