Your new role
As a Manager, you will work closely with the VAT Partners and Directors as a key member of the team in Scotland. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a client portfolio with significant client responsibility
- Overseeing your team's portfolios
- Delivering high-quality VAT consultancy services
- Supporting, developing, and reviewing the work of junior team members and graduates
- Collaborating with other areas of the business, such as Direct Tax, Employment Tax, and Business Advisory teams

Additional duties will arise as needed to support local partners.
What You'll Need To Succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Extensive VAT experience, whether in accountancy firms, industry, or HMRC
- Self-sufficiency with minimal input from senior staff
- Proactive responsibility for managing clients and work
- Ability to handle your own portfolio, including more complex or higher-risk clients
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- An in-depth, current knowledge of VAT and the ability to handle complex issues
- Experience in project and staff management
- Ability to manage a client portfolio profitably
- Experience dealing with senior client management and HMRC
A CTA qualification or equivalent experience is required.
