Job Profile

The VAT Specialist is responsible for providing proactive VAT advisory support to the business, ensuring commercial activities are structured efficiently and in line with VAT legislation. The role focuses on technical VAT guidance, risk management, stakeholder support, and identifying opportunities to improve VAT processes and operational efficiency.

Your Responsibilities

  • Managing various indirect tax initiatives and projects including multinational VAT review and implementation of the rules.
  • Liaise with external advisors on technical VAT matters.
  • Document the VAT processes and produce written materials and memos for internal and audit purposes.
  • Monitor changes in Indirect tax legislation.
  • Support cross-border VAT planning, including imports, exports, and international supply chains.
  • Support business on day-to-day questions related to indirect tax and compliance obligations.
  • Support with identifying opportunities to optimize VAT processes and overall compliance.
  • Involvement in E-invoicing and E-reporting regulations.

Required Skills, Qualifications, And Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related discipline. ACCA, ACA, CTA, ATT qualification an advantage.
  • 4+ years VAT experience gained in professional advisory practice or a large multi-national.
  • Strong knowledge of VAT legislation and indirect tax principles.
  • Experience working as a team and leading project teams or workstreams.
  • Experience with international indirect tax matters and cross-border transactions.
  • Understanding of or practical experience with VAT laws in EU countries.
  • A diligent and motivated individual, able to work with the team and on their own.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
