VAT Trainee Are you ready to take your first step into the world of finance?
We’re looking for motivated, enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our friendly VAT (Value Added Tax) team as Trainee at either our Boston or Sleaford office. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn how businesses manage their finances while working towards building a long-term career in accounting, bookkeeping and taxation. Within this role you will work alongside our experienced tax team whilst building a strong foundation in VAT compliance and advisory services. This opportunity offers structured training alongside completing the AAT Level 3 Qualification via an apprenticeship. You will receive ongoing support and an exposure to a wide range of clients and industries helping you develop both your technical knowledge and professional confidence.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensuring acute awareness of your workload, including upcoming deadlines, and completing all required work within the parameters specified by your line manager
- Knowing your abilities and when to ask for help from peers or your direct line manager.
- Ensuring that work is completed within the specified budget(s).
- Reducing the number of repeat review points on any given project to improve efficiencies.
- Build and maintain technical knowledge in taxation matters.
- Developing working relationships with clients to assist in obtaining relevant information, maximise yield and performance.

What We’re Looking For:
- You must have the full right to work in the UK (indefinite leave to remain).
- Minimum of 96 UCAS points through 3 A-Levels (A–C grades) or equivalent.
- GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in Maths and English.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Any previous work previous, part-time job, office, or finance experience is a bonus – but not essential.
