Overall Purpose of The Job
Acting as the frontline representative of V.Dockings in the planning, preparation, and execution of dry-docking activities on behalf of V.Ships offices and 3rd party customers, including accountability for;
- Acting as primary V.Dockings representative throughout the docking planning and preparation stages
- Key accountability for the oversight and execution of safe, timely, and efficient dockings projects
- Active participation in the washup and reporting of docking projects, to ensure customer reporting needs are met and internal continually improvement opportunities are captured and acted upon
- Support Group Technical and HSSEQ colleagues in continual improvement of V.Dockings and V.MS policies, processes, and standards to ensure V.’s offerings remain continually improved and aligned with best practices
- Provide immediate V.Group representation in event of incident during dockings projects, ensuring that V.’s personnel, reputation and best interests are protected at all times
Key Performance Indicators
- Delivery of assigned V.Dockings projects within agreed budgets and timeframes
- Delivery of assigned V.Dockings projects in full compliance with documented V.Dockings policy and process
- Overall HSSEQ and Operational performance and incident reduction during assigned V.Dockings projects
- Any other agreed internal KPIs/metrics related to V.Dockings performance
- Performance against agreed personal objectives for this role

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Promoting a strong, proactive Culture of HSSEQ Excellence, through;
- Continually providing strong, visible, and proactive examples of HSSEQ leadership
- Promotion of a transparent & value-adding HSSEQ Excellence culture across the Group
- Ensuring that docks, suppliers, and stakeholders are working and operating in a safe and environmentally sound manner, in order that the reputations, assets, and operations of V. and our customers are not impacted
- Immediately escalating any concerns about the HSSEQ, operational, legal, or financial compliance of any stakeholder or representative associated with any docking project
- Effective capture and reporting of learning opportunities to continually improve V.Dockings and V.Group processes
Planning and Preparation
- Liaison with Fleet Cells during the planning stages, which may commence up to 18 months in advance of docking
- Support and oversight of Fleet Cells in the completion of Docking Specs utilising preferred software solutions, in a timely manner and to meet necessary standards
- Active participation in all relevant Fleet Cell/Customer meetings during the planning stages
Execution
- Primary accountability for on-site oversight and execution of assigned dockings projects, ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of each
- Provision of daily reports and required forecasts, including ongoing docking activities, budgetary changes, end and release dates, and all other such documented updates required by Fleet Cells and customers, and in compliance with V. processes
- Issue and oversight of all Variation Orders required for Fleet Cell and Customer approval, in the event of required works arising during the docking that are outside the agreed docking spec
- Immediate reporting, in compliance with relevant V. policy and process, of all incidents or non-compliances during the course of assigned dockings projects
Wash-Up and Continual Improvement
- Ensure all learning opportunities are captured during and throughout the docking execution, for effective and timely feedback into V.’s Continual Improvement professes and programs
- Active participation in all post-docking wash-up sessions, ensuring all learning opportunities are captured to ensure the continual improvement of V. policies, processes, and services
- Provide subject matter expertise in above continual improvement to ensure V. policies, processes, and services remain efficient and effective, and meet industry best practices at all times
- Promote a culture of collaboration and transparency with crew, yard staff, contractors, and suppliers that actively supports awareness and implementation of continual improvement at all stages of the docking process

Incident Response and Investigation
- Provide immediate incident response and management where V. is impacted, ensuring that V.’s personnel, reputation and best interests are protected at all times
- Act as senior V. representative on-site until relevant ShipMan and/or Group resources are deployed to take over
- Ensure the preservation of all necessary physical evidence together with collection of all statements and documentary evidence that may be required, pre-empting subsequent investigation
- Provide subject matter expertise and own witness input to subsequent investigations, ensuring learning and improvement opportunities are maximised for V.Dockings and V.Group, overall
Contribution To V.Group Strategy And Values
- Assuring V.Group capabilities, compliance, and commitment to outstanding service delivery
- Collaborating with Group, Business Unit, and Operational teams to drive safe operations in dry-docks
- Ensuring consistent and efficient dockings for V.Ships and 3rd parties, in line with V.Dockings processes
- Professional representation of V. at all times to customers and external stakeholders
- Continually reinforcing collaboration and close working relationships between V.Group and V.Ships teams
Essential
- Extensive technical experience in successfully executing dockings and large repairs across variety of vessel types (offshore and/or LPG/LNG)
- Proven experience in Dry Dock Specification and Tender writing, review, and analysis
- Excellent ability to make, maintain, and grow customer relations with key internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent ability to represent V. to highest professional levels in external engagements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to engage and interact with people of all levels and cultures
- Ability to travel & work remotely for protracted periods
