About the Role

As a Vehicle Collection Driver (Class 1), you’ll be tasked with collecting accident-damaged vehicles from client and customer locations. Using specialist salvage/recovery trucks and vehicle winches, you’ll ensure the safe and compliant loading, securing, and unloading of vehicles at all times. Accuracy in recording vehicle heights before each journey is crucial for highway and weight regulations compliance.
Full training is provided for all roles at IAA.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect allocated vehicles from client and customer locations
- Safely load, secure, and unload vehicles on assigned trucks or trailers
- Comply with all legal driving regulations, including height/weight limits and road safety
- Measure and document vehicle height accurately before every journey
- Maintain professional communication with customers, clients, and colleagues
- Adhere to high standards of safety, precision, and customer service

Minimum Requirements
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card in force
- Minimum of 6 months Class 1 HGV driving experience
- Preferable: Experience in vehicle recovery or car transporter operations (training provided)
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Safety-first attitude with keen attention to detail
- Must be self-motivated, reliable, and highly organised
