Vehicle Data Logger Technician

Crewe | £38,000 + Benefit

Do you have experience installing, configuring, and supporting vehicle data logging systems? We're looking for a hands-on Vehicle Data Logger Technician to support a fleet of development and reliability test vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with automotive electrical experience who enjoys data acquisition, harness work, fault finding, and supporting vehicle testing programs.

Working within a leading automotive engineering environment, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining data logger hardware, supporting test vehicles, managing logger configurations, and ensuring high-quality data is captured throughout vehicle development activities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Install, configure, and maintain vehicle data logging systems.
  • Support a fleet of approximately 30 development and test vehicles.
  • Build, repair, and modify data logger harnesses and associated electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve logger hardware, wiring, and configuration issues.
  • Upload and manage vehicle and logger configurations.
  • Conduct software and configuration checks across the test fleet.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle and data logger records within engineering databases.
  • Support test teams with data collection and logger troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate hardware and ancillary parts required for vehicle preparation.
  • Provide remote support to test facilities when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
