Vehicle Delivery Driver
Department: Rental Employment Type: Zero Hours Location: Erith Reporting To: Rental Supervisor Compensation: £13.83 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking reliable casual vehicle delivery drivers to join our team and provide a professional driving service for delivering and collecting vehicles. Your role will involve assisting with vehicle preparation, inspections, deliveries, and ensuring all work complies with company regulations, health and safety standards, and road traffic laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cleaning of vehicles prior to delivery
- Conduct vehicle inspections for damage or missing items, completing a Vehicle Inspection Sheet in each case
- Deliver vehicles to customers, garages, and other locations promptly as required
- Carry out vehicle collections, recording any damage, obtaining customer signatures, and ensuring all paperwork is accurate
- Complete and return all paperwork to the Rental Office
- Record vehicle movement details in the Rental diary
- Adhere to driver regulations and tachograph use when operating vehicles fitted with monitoring devices
- Refuel vehicles as required, ensuring the correct fuel type is used
- Document vehicle defects on a defect report form and inform your Line Manager verbally
- Report health and safety risks, faults, or dangerous incidents to the Health and Safety Officer
- Perform vehicle checks (roadworthiness, fluid levels, cleanliness) when in possession of vehicles outside standard working hours, including weekends or evenings
- Drive safely and courteously, complying with all road traffic regulations, and report any accidents promptly
- Maintain all issued and required company equipment according to health and safety instructions
- Assist colleagues in vehicle preparation and cleaning for hire
- Comply with all staff guidelines regarding health and safety onsite and at delivery/collection points

Requirements & Skills
- Minimum one year’s driving experience
- Must hold a valid Category D1 driving licence
- Ability to work as a team player, maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and clients
- Commitment to compliance:
- Wear all required uniform, including high-visibility jackets/vests and ID badges, in a clean and presentable condition
- Arrive punctually for duties and ensure operational hours are met as agreed
- Willingness to carry out additional reasonable duties as requested by line managers
