Position Available: Experienced Vehicle Processor

A position has become available for an experienced person to join a team of staff who will be responsible for processing vehicles through the commissioning and decommissioning process within the Trust. This will be part of a process which will see new vehicles & equipment delivered across the Trust to Kent, Surrey & Sussex, as well as old vehicles & equipment removed from the fleet and put through our decommissioning process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Processing Vehicles: Responsible for processing the vehicles through the commissioning centre in a timely manner following delivery from the dealership, whilst working with staff from other departments and contractors who also have a part to play in processing vehicles through the commissioning centre.
  • Vehicle Types: Vehicles will consist of DCA’s (Double crewed ambulances), SRV’s (Single response vehicles), HART (Hazardous Area Response Team), Support vehicles, Managers cars, and any other vehicles or equipment the Trust wish to add / remove from the fleet.
  • Electrical Knowledge: Due to the nature of the vehicles, a strong electrical knowledge of vehicle electrics and power management systems will be required for this role.
  • Vehicle Conversion: You will be involved in elements of vehicle conversion including travelling to vehicle converters when requested (Transport will be provided).
  • Medical Equipment: There will be times when medical equipment will require servicing & repairing following relevant training.
  • Shift Coverage: During quiet spells, you will be requested to cover shifts at local workshops during periods of sickness, annual leave, or increased work demand. This will be to complete normal day to day mechanical repairs of vehicles and medical equipment.
  • Work Hours: This is a 37.5 hours a week role, Monday – Friday (07.00 – 15.00hrs) based at Lewes. There will be a requirement to be flexible at times and have excellent time management skills.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Successful applicants will have a good working knowledge of fleet vehicles, whilst holding City & Guilds qualifications 1, 2 & 3 NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Skills: Computer skills will be required although in-house training is available.
  • Licence: The successful candidates must hold a C1 driving licence.
  • Personality Traits: We’re looking for an organised candidate, who has accuracy and attention to detail at the heart of all they do.

Salary
