Job Title: Vehicle Maintenance Technician

Job Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join a leading logistics operation based in Wellingborough. Working within a busy fleet maintenance environment, you will be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring maximum fleet availability and compliance at all times.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking to join a stable business that offers long-term career prospects, modern workshop facilities, and a days-based working pattern.

Non-Negotiable Requirements for the Vehicle Maintenance Technician
- Class 2 (Category C) HGV Licence
- Level 3 qualification relevant to HGV Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or equivalent
- Proven experience maintaining HGVs, LGVs, commercial vehicles, or fleet vehicles
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of DVSA regulations and vehicle compliance requirements

Requirements for the Vehicle Maintenance Technician
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and servicing on commercial vehicles
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
- Complete vehicle inspections and safety checks
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed to company and legislative standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Support vehicle MOT preparation and compliance activities
- Work collaboratively within the engineering and fleet teams to maximize vehicle availability
Desirable Requirements for the Vehicle Maintenance Technician
- IRTEC accreditation
- Experience working within a large fleet or logistics environment
- Knowledge of modern vehicle diagnostic systems
- Experience maintaining trailers and ancillary equipment
- Additional HGV licence categories
