Role Description The Vehicle Mechanic role at Auto Capital is a full-time, on-site position based in Harrow. This role involves performing routine vehicle maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and carrying out repairs on a variety of commercial vans and heavy equipment. The Vehicle Mechanic will conduct inspections, identify faults, and ensure all vehicles meet safety and quality standards before sale.

- Using diagnostic tools
- Maintaining accurate service records
- Collaborating with the sales and operations teams to prioritize work
The role also includes:
- Supporting workshop organization
- Adhering to health and safety procedures
- Providing occasional guidance to junior team members
Qualifications
- Strong Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair skills, with experience working on commercial vans and related systems.
- Proficient in Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and systematic approaches.
- Experience working with Heavy Equipment and commercial vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension.
- Demonstrated Supervisory Skills to support and guide junior mechanics or workshop staff when required.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in automotive engineering or vehicle mechanics.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance in a workshop environment.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation, with strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented, customer-focused environment.
