The company stocks over 300 quality used vans from a wide range of manufacturers, offering competitive prices and convenient online search tools. Customers can view detailed information, images, and special offers through a virtual showroom, and access full vehicle details and location maps. Auto Capital is open seven days a week and is committed to high standards, professional service, and an honest, customer-focused environment. The company also supports buyers with finance, warranty, insurance, road tax, and part-exchange options, while investing in staff training and growth.

Role Description The Vehicle Mechanic role at Auto Capital is a full-time, on-site position based in Harrow. This role involves performing routine vehicle maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and carrying out repairs on a variety of commercial vans and heavy equipment. The Vehicle Mechanic will conduct inspections, identify faults, and ensure all vehicles meet safety and quality standards before sale.

  • Maintaining accurate service records
  • Collaborating with the sales and operations teams to prioritize work

The role also includes:

  • Supporting workshop organization
  • Adhering to health and safety procedures
  • Providing occasional guidance to junior team members

Qualifications

  • Strong Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair skills, with experience working on commercial vans and related systems.
  • Proficient in Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and systematic approaches.
  • Experience working with Heavy Equipment and commercial vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension.
  • Demonstrated Supervisory Skills to support and guide junior mechanics or workshop staff when required.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in automotive engineering or vehicle mechanics.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance in a workshop environment.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation, with strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented, customer-focused environment.
