Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Prepper / Polisher to join our client’s expanding automotive service team. This role is integral to ensuring vehicles are finished to the highest possible standard, working across a variety of makes and models. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, a keen eye for detail, and pride in delivering showroom-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for paintwork, including sanding, masking, priming, and filler work.
- Polish, buff, and finish surfaces to achieve a flawless final presentation.
- Identify and repair small imperfections such as scratches, chips, and dents prior to painting.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer and customer standards of quality and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with paint technicians and bodyshop colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.
- Accurately use tools and materials in line with company and manufacturer guidelines.
Qualification and Experience
- IMI or City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Vehicle Repair, Refinishing, or Bodyshop work.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in prepping, polishing, or vehicle refinishing.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation and finishing techniques.
- Full UK/EU driving licence required.
