As a Vehicle Safety Operator, you will be responsible for running on-road experiments and reporting back to our research and development teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a part of our world-class, diverse operations team to test our vehicles all over the UK.
  • Monitor our artificial intelligence and respond to all hazards to guarantee safe testing at all times.
  • Evaluate our artificial intelligence during tests, and provide expert feedback to our research teams and engineers.
  • Provide real-world driving examples to train our artificial intelligence before you test on public roads.
  • Support our safety and engineer teams by maintaining our high safety standards, and reporting safety and vehicle issues.

About You

In order to set you up for success as a Vehicle Safety Operator at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.

Essential

  • Full clean UK manual driving licence.
  • At least 8 years of driving experience—mainly in the UK.
  • No blameworthy insurance claims in the past three years.
  • Strong communication skills and a clear ability to empathize with others.
  • Happy to work alone and equally happy working within a team.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and passionate about solving problems with innovative solutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, or equivalent (Google Suite)
  • Basic Navigation: Understanding how to navigate the home screen, open and close apps, and switch between apps.
  • Touchscreen Gestures: Familiarity with common touchscreen gestures like tap, swipe, pinch, and zoom.
  • Typing and Text Editing: Using the on-screen keyboard for typing, selecting text, and using copy, paste, and other text-editing functions.
  • Connecting to Wi-Fi and Managing Settings: Knowing how to connect to Wi-Fi networks and manage settings like brightness, volume, and Bluetooth.
  • Using Basic Apps: Proficiency in using basic apps like Safari for web browsing, Mail for email, Photos for managing pictures, and Calendar for scheduling.
  • Troubleshooting Basic Issues: Handling common problems like app crashes, restarting the device, or resetting network settings.
  • All applications are required to disclose any second job as part of the application process.
  • All applicants will be subject to a health check (before/after) the offer and should disclose any conditions that may affect their ability to safely operate.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing, in accordance with our Drugs & Alcohol policy. You will be tested during your onsite interview.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
