Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: £35,000 - £60,000 OTE + Competitive Basic + Bonus + Benefits
Overview
An established automotive retailer is seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join its busy workshop team in Basingstoke.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Technician to work within a modern, well-equipped dealership environment, carrying out servicing, diagnostics, repair work, and vehicle inspections to manufacturer standards.
The role offers strong earning potential through a performance-related bonus structure, with opportunities for ongoing training and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair work on a wide range of vehicles
- Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
- Complete vehicle health checks and identify additional repair requirements
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to manufacturer standards
- Accurately record work completed and parts used on dealership systems
- Liaise with Service Advisors and Workshop Controllers regarding repair progress
- Maintain a high level of productivity and quality of workmanship
- Ensure warranty procedures and compliance guidelines are followed
- Support workshop efficiency by working collaboratively with colleagues
- Keep up to date with technical training and manufacturer developments

Candidate Profile
Required
- Qualified Vehicle Technician (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
- Experience working within a franchised dealership or high-quality independent workshop
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Full UK Driving Licence

- MOT Tester qualification (advantageous)
- Manufacturer brand training or accreditation
- Experience with diagnostics and complex fault finding
- Hybrid or EV training (desirable but not essential)
