Vehicle Technician

Location: Slough

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 depending on experience, with £50,000 OTE

Role Overview

This role sits within Jameel Motors UK Auto Retail and is part of an exciting new partnership with GAC, specifically with their AION brand. You will be working within a professional workshop environment, supporting a range of vehicles, including alternative fuel, hybrid and electric models as part of the AION brand’s entry into the UK market.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will carry out high quality servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repair activities, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and in line with manufacturer standards. You will play a key part in maintaining workshop productivity, delivering right first-time fixes and contributing to an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, repairs and inspection procedures in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform vehicle health checks and identify additional work required, ensuring all repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Conduct diagnostic work using appropriate tools and systems to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Support repairs across a range of vehicles, including alternative fuel, hybrid and electric models.
  • Undertake MOT testing in line with DVSA standards where qualified, ensuring all vehicles meet safety and legal compliance requirements.
  • Complete accurate warranty job cards and provide detailed write ups to support warranty claims and internal processes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet workshop productivity targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with health and safety standards.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
  • Experience within a main dealer or similar professional workshop environment.
  • Proven experience in routine servicing, repairs and vehicle inspections.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • MOT Tester qualification (or willingness to obtain post-appointment).
  • Experience working with alternative fuel, hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Ability to complete accurate and detailed warranty documentation and write ups.
