Vehicle & Plant Technician – Great Billing, Northamptonshire

Salary: From £36,986 (depending on skills and experience) Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) – Monday to Friday Flexibility: Flexible working opportunities available (discussed during interview)


About the Role

As a Vehicle & Plant Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Anglian Water’s vehicle and plant fleet. Your role ensures all equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards while minimising operational downtime.

Key duties include:

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing aligned with manufacturer recommendations.
  • Conducting inspections to Department of Transport standards.
  • Managing work orders, inspection/service reports, and parts ordering via fleet management systems.
  • Ensuring adherence to Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Supporting fleet de-commissioning as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on vehicles and plant equipment.

  • Comply with environmental and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

Powered by ** Industry experience and qualifications:

  • City & Guilds qualification in light & heavy vehicle mechanics.
  • Extensive experience in commercial vehicle and plant maintenance/repair.
  • Computer-literate, with familiarity in fleet management systems.
  • Ability to make cost-effective decisions while maintaining safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative working across teams/suppliers.
  • Awareness of environmental impacts and adherence to safe plant/machinery operation.
