The Role: PDI Technician Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 Location: Edinburgh Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 42.5 hours, 5 days out of 7 on a rota - weekend working will be required. As a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our vehicles are mechanically prepared and ready for handover - helping us to achieve our vision of being the car buyers champion! What will you be getting up to? Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards Inspect vehicles and diagnose faults to meet Motorpoint’s quality benchmarks Follow our PDI process, including conducting road tests, to ensure readiness for handover Complete documentation accurately and support vehicle movements as needed Maintain a clean, safe workspace and collaborate with colleagues across departments Champion health and safety and contribute to a positive team culture Carry out any other ad hoc tasks as required What do we need from you? A full UK driving licence is essential A minimum Level 2 motor trade qualification EV qualification is desirable – but don’t worry, we’ll support you with training if needed Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues during inspections Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines A team player who can also work independently Motivation to meet performance goals and uphold quality standards Organised and efficient in managing workload and priorities Commitment to safety and maintaining a tidy workspace Willingness to support other sites when needed A positive attitude and alignment with our values: Proud, Honest, Supportive, Happy and Together What is in it for you?
