Vehicle Technician – EV & Hybrid

Vehicle Technician – EV & Hybrid Location: Slough | Salary: £38,000–£40,000 (upgradeable to £50,000 OTE based on experience)


Role Overview

Joining Jameel Motors UK Auto Retail, you’ll be pivotal in their new partnership with GAC’s AION brand as this carmaker enters the UK market.

As a Vehicle Technician, you’ll:

  • Excel in servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and high-quality maintenance across EV, hybrid, and alternative fuel vehicles in a professional workshop.
  • Drive workshop efficiency, achieve right-first-time fixes, and elevate customer experiences.
  • Ensure all work aligns with manufacturer and DVSA standards.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Operational Tasks

  • Perform routine servicing, repairs, and inspections strictly per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct vehicle health checks, identify work requirements, and execute repairs efficiently.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern tools and systems.

GAC AION Support

  • Troubleshoot and maintain AION’s EV/hybrid vehicles as these launch in the UK.
  • Assist in MOT testing where qualified, ensuring safety and legality compliance.

Admin & Compliance

  • Complete detailed warranty job cards and write-ups for claims and internal audit.
  • Document processes accurately for warranty and operational support.

Workplace & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet workshop productivity targets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace adhering to health and safety regulations.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance/Repair (or equivalent).
  • Main-dealer or professional workshop experience.
  • Proficiency in routine servicing, repairs, and MOT testing.
  • Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proven familiarity with EV/hybrid vehicles.
  • Ability to prepare detailed warranty documentation.
