Vehicle Technician / Mechanic 4 Day week

At Sandicliffe Nottingham FordStore, we’re offering Vehicle Technicians the chance to work a 4-day week with a 3-day weekend, giving you more time to recharge, spend time with family, or simply enjoy life outside of work.

Your Work Schedule Options

  • Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1 in 4 Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM overtime)
  • OR
  • Tuesday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1 in 4 Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM overtime)

The Role

We’re looking for enthusiastic and skilled Vehicle Technicians of all levels — from IMI Level 3 to Master Technician, Commercial Technician, and our newly created Triage Technician role. You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles to high standards while delivering excellent service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to manufacturer and MOT standards
  • Perform electronic Vehicle Health Checks (eVHC) with clear reports and recommendations
  • Inspect vehicles before and after service and repair work
  • Source and order required parts to complete jobs efficiently
  • Ensure final inspections and testing are completed thoroughly
  • Accurately record all work carried out in line with company policy and compliance
  • Support and mentor apprentices, sharing your skills and experience
  • Take part in ongoing manufacturer and EV training

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working with a main dealer or independent garage (manufacturer experience a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Great communication skills — able to explain technical info to non-technical customers
  • Ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines safely and efficiently
