Vehicle Technician (x2)
Location: Brighton, East Sussex (BN8)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Overtime + Excellent Benefits
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
The Opportunity
Our client, a leading UK infrastructure and highways contractor, is looking to recruit experienced Vehicle Technicians to join its expanding Mechanical Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied fleet of cars, vans, HGVs and specialist commercial vehicles for customers including emergency services, NHS fleets, Iveco and other commercial operators. The business offers long-term job security, ongoing manufacturer training and excellent career progression.
The Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs across a diverse range of vehicles, ensuring they are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards. The role includes both scheduled servicing and emergency breakdown repairs, working within a modern workshop alongside an experienced team.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on cars, vans, HGVs and commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
- Complete preventative maintenance and inspections to DVSA standards.
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
- Complete all service documentation and job records accurately.
- Process warranty repairs where applicable.
- Maintain high standards of workshop health and safety.
- Support and mentor apprentices and trainee technicians.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of the wider workshop team.
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Motor Vehicle Repair.
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on a range of vehicle manufacturers.
- Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable
- LGV Licence.
- Experience working on commercial vehicles or HGVs.
- Experience supporting apprentices or junior technicians.
Training & Development
The successful candidates will benefit from ongoing manufacturer and industry training, including:
- Iveco manufacturer training
- HGV technical training
- Electric Vehicle (EV) training
- Health & Safety and Environmental training
- Roadside recovery training (where applicable)
