About the role
We're looking for a hands-on Venture Builder to lead and ship Project Tricorder — a fast-moving venture operating at the intersection of software, hardware, defence and healthcare. More about the project here.
This is a build-first role for someone who can move from concept to working product in days, not months, while operating to the standards a sensitive-data environment demands.
You'll own the product end to end: architecting, writing code, shipping iterations, and making the pragmatic calls needed to get something real in front of stakeholders quickly. You will be working with national security software and data, so a strong cyber security instinct and prior experience in secure environments is essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll do
- Take Project Tricorder from concept to shipped product, working alongside the founder & CEO, and the rest of the Founders Factory squad, owning build and delivery end to end.

- Make architecture and tooling decisions that balance speed with security and reliability.
- Handle national security software and data responsibly, applying secure-by-design principles throughout.

- A proven track record of shipping products fast, ideally in 0-to-1 or startup / venture-building contexts.
- Hands-on experience working in national security, defence, or comparable sensitive-data environments.
- Deep cyber security competence: secure development practices, threat awareness, and safe handling of classified or sensitive data.
- Comfort with ambiguity, ownership, and rapid iteration under time pressure.
