About The Role
CDL-London at Imperial College London is one of Creative Destruction Lab’s newest international hubs dedicated to transforming academic breakthroughs into scalable, commercial ventures.
Hosted by Imperial College London – a global top ten university and leader in engineering and physical sciences – CDL-London supports the commercialization of breakthrough science and technology ventures. Alongside its existing CDL Minerals stream, CDL-London is launching a Healthcare Robotics stream focused on medical robotics, active sensing, and AI-enabled hardware that bring cutting-edge technologies into hospitals, homes, and communities.
As part of Imperial’s Enterprise ecosystem, CDL-London is led by the Institute for DeepTech Entrepreneurship, a cross university initiative housed within Imperial Business School, in partnership with the Imperial Enterprise Lab.
What you would be doing
Do you have an entrepreneurial mindset, a passion for startups and innovation, and the ability to take ownership of projects and see them through from concept to execution?
This role will play a key part in building and scaling Healthcare Robotics, one of CDL-London’s flagship streams. As the Venture Manager, you will help drive the growth and delivery of CDL-London’s operations, with a particular focus on the Healthcare Robotics stream. Responsibilities include recruiting high-potential ventures and world-class mentors, managing relationships with ventures and stakeholders participating in the programme, maintaining CDL-London’s research and stakeholder databases, and leading initiatives that drive the growth and continuous improvement of the programme.

What we are looking for
We Are Looking For a Driven, Entrepreneurial Professional Who Thrives At The Intersection Of Science, Technology, And Business. You Will Bring
- A passion for startups, venture ecosystems, and science-based innovation, with a genuine curiosity about what makes science-based companies succeed
- Relevant experience in external relations, business development, stakeholder relations, or venture management
- Experience working in innovation, entrepreneurship, or startup support, engaging confidently with founders, mentors, investors, and academics
- A proven ability to identify, recruit, and engage high-potential founders, partners and world-class mentors
- Strong relationship management skills – you are someone people trust, return to, and want in their corner
- Sharp analytical instincts and the ability to evaluate early-stage ventures across diverse technology verticals
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and in the room – with the confidence to facilitate sessions with founders, senior scientists, investors, and entrepreneurs
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of or experience in healthcare, medtech, robotics, or life sciences is a plus

This is a full-time post based in the Imperial Enterprise Lab.
This role is for a fixed-term contract for up to 3 years.
