The Role

We are seeking an experienced Venture Partner to help source, evaluate, and support high-potential startups aligned with our thesis. This is a senior, high-impact role suited for operators, founders, angels, or ecosystem leaders deeply embedded in AI & frontier tech.

This role is flexible and performance-driven, with upside participation in deals you originate and support.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deal Sourcing & Origination

    • Source high-quality startups across 16VC’s focus sectors
    • Leverage your network to generate proprietary deal flow
    • Represent 16VC within founder and investor ecosystems

  • Conduct diligence (market, product, tech, founder-market fit)
  • Prepare investment memos for IC review
  • Participate in investment committee discussions
  1. Portfolio Support

    • Provide strategic guidance to portfolio founders
    • Help with hiring, GTM strategy, partnerships, and fundraising
    • Make customer, talent, and investor introductions
  2. Brand & Ecosystem Building

    • Strengthen 16VC’s presence in AI & emerging tech communities
    • Host roundtables, demo sessions, or founder events
    • Contribute thought leadership where relevant

Ideal Candidate Profile

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Has founded, scaled, or held senior roles in venture-backed startups
  • Has deep exposure to AI, SaaS, Web3, FinTech, or Deep Tech
  • Has invested as an angel or worked within a VC fund
  • Possesses a strong founder and investor network
  • Thinks long-term and aligns with 16VC’s thesis

Time Commitment

Flexible, Typically

  • 5–15 hours per week
  • Deal-by-deal involvement
  • IC participation as needed

Compensation

Performance-based, including:

  • Carry participation in deals you originate
  • Deal-by-deal economics via SPVs
  • Potential co-investment access
  • Reputation and platform leverage

(No fixed salary; structured as a partnership engagement.)
