The Role

This exciting opportunity within the venue sales team will be responsible for proactively and effectively selling venue space and services to both new and existing exhibition organizing clients at a senior level.

The role holder is responsible for positively adding value in a mix of markets within the exhibitions sector by creating various sales opportunities beyond the scope of current events in the industry, aiming to fast track a portfolio of market leading events. Through close collaboration with clients, and closely supporting the Head of Venue Sales and team, the Account Manager will assist in proactive account management across the company portfolio.

The Account Manager will drive revenue growth by maximising sales opportunities through organic business development, effective yield management, and the identification and conversion of new business. They will demonstrate FIL’s capability to deliver tailored solutions across a wide portfolio of products and value-added services.

The role directly reports to the Head of Venue Sales.


The Candidates

We are looking for a commercially driven and highly motivated sales professional with a proven track record of success in selling venue space or a closely related offering at a suitably senior level.

The ideal candidate will combine strong knowledge of the exhibitions or events market with excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling them to build credibility and influence effectively with senior and board-level clients.

They will be confident negotiators, capable of securing and implementing contracts, and will bring a structured, disciplined approach to managing the full sales cycle—consistently converting enquiries into confirmed business.

With strong organisational skills and a proactive mindset, they will be able to identify challenges early and develop creative, practical solutions.

The successful individual will be comfortable working with CRM systems, Microsoft Office and venue management tools, and will demonstrate a natural ability to generate new leads and opportunities.

Above all, we are seeking someone who is competitive, self-motivated and adaptable, with the resilience and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to wider business objectives.


The Contract

  • Contract: Permanent, full time 37.5 hours per week.
  • Working pattern: Monday – Friday with occasional weekend attendance at events as required.
  • Hybrid working: Minimum of three days per week in the Farnborough office, and up to two days from home as agreed with Line Manager.
  • Travel: Willingness and flexibility to travel to events when required.
