The Venue Assistant
The Venue Assistant will assist the Venue Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations at Silverstone Circuit. This role is essential in ensuring that events are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. The Venue Assistant will work closely with the Venue Manager and other team members to coordinate logistics, maintain facilities, and provide exceptional service to clients and guests.
Essential
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Ability to assist in coordinating the operational delivery of events from set-up through to breakdown.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices within an events or venue environment.
- Ability to respond effectively to operational issues and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and venue or event management systems where applicable.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to meet business needs.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of supporting venue operations, including moving equipment and overseeing event set-up where required.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
- Full UK driving licence (if travel between venues or off-site events is required).

Desirable
- Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within the events or hospitality sector.
- Qualification in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Health and Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely).
- Experience using event booking or venue management software.
- Knowledge of licensing regulations relating to venues and events.
- Experience managing budgets, stock control, or procurement.
- Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of risk assessments, emergency procedures, and event compliance requirements.
- Personal Licence Holder (where alcohol licensing is applicable).
- Experience working with a diverse range of events, including conferences, weddings, exhibitions, performances, and community events.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and coordinating events, ensuring all logistics are handled, including setup, technical support, catering, and staffing.
- Support the Venue Manager in ensuring the venue is maintained to the highest standard, including cleanliness, safety, and functionality.
- Provide a high level of customer service to event organisers, clients, and guests, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and setup of services.
- Assist in the scheduling and management of event staff, including coordinators, ushers, security, and technical personnel.
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed during events and that the venue meets all local regulations and requirements.
- Assist in managing event budgets, tracking expenses, and preparing reports for the Venue Manager or senior management.
- Handle any operational or logistical issues during events, ensuring minimal disruption to clients and attendees.
- Ensure the venue is properly closed down after events, including overseeing clean up and equipment removal.
