About the Role
We’re currently recruiting for a Senior Verification and Validation Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our robotics products.
Any experience within:
- Robotics
- Automotive
- High-tech manufacturing or similar environments would be highly advantageous.
The role is predominantly office-based (Wallingford/Oxford) due to the software-intensive nature of the work. Experience programming on devices is also desirable.
Responsibilities
Testing & Execution
- Develop and implement hardware and software testing procedures to support product development teams.
- Lead the establishment of a gold-standard testing environment, setting benchmarks for continuous testing of robots, including autonomy and data capture capabilities.
- Capture and analyze test data to create benchmark performance metrics.
Quality & Release
- Approve production-grade software releases, ensuring rigorous quality validation before deployment.
- Maintain high standards and debug complex issues across tooling, systems, and hardware workflows.

Technical Expertise
- Comfortable with Linux-based systems, including command-line work and system administration.
- Strong experience building and maintaining internal tooling—such as:
- Commissioning workflows
- Deployment pipelines
- Service management
- Test/validation systems
- Proficient with version control (Git), understanding best practices for collaboration.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go, with the ability to work across multi-language codebases (Python/Go/C++).
- Experience with packaging, dependency management, and release workflows, including:
- Docker (containerization)
- GitHub Releases (automated deployment)
- Clear communication skills: Ability to write comprehensive documentation and specifications for cross-team adoption.
- Strong debugging capabilities and problem-solving mindset.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in verification, validation, or software engineering (robotics, automotive, or high-tech preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Linux environments, scripting, and automation.
- Solid coding skills in Python/Go, along with exposure to low-level technologies (e.g., C++).
- Familiarity with devOps/tooling workflows, including Docker, GitHub Actions, or CI/CD pipelines.
