The Role

The Vertical Lead is accountable for revenue growth, retention and client success within a vertical or client segment. The role provides commercial and strategic leadership to Account Management teams, ensuring deep knowledge of clients, proactive risk management and high-quality account planning.

How to make an impact

  • Client & Revenue Ownership
    • Own a defined portfolio of clients within a specific vertical or segment.
    • Drive revenue growth through renewals, upsell and expansion opportunities.
    • Protect against churn through proactive identification and management of client risk.
    • Maintain a strong, up-to-date understanding of client priorities, organisational changes and market developments.

  • Account Planning & Risk Management

    • Ensure robust and current account plans are in place for all key accounts.
    • Continuously assess account health, risks, and growth opportunities.
    • Anticipate issues before they escalate by staying close to client activity, feedback and sentiment.
    • Challenge and support Account Managers on account strategy, execution, and prioritisation.
  • Team Leadership

    • Lead and coach Account Managers aligned to the vertical.
    • Set clear expectations around ownership, quality of account planning and client engagement.
    • Act as the escalation point for complex client or commercial issues.
    • Support consistency and accountability across the team.
  • Client Engagement & Execution

    • Ensure structured and effective client engagement rhythms, including regular reviews and strategic check-ins.
    • Maintain oversight of key client communications and interactions.
    • Step in directly with clients where senior engagement is required.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Product to ensure alignment on pipeline, pricing, roadmap and delivery dependencies.
    • Represent the voice of the client and the vertical internally.
    • Ensure client feedback and risks are clearly communicated and acted upon.
  • Performance & Reporting

    • Own vertical-level performance metrics, including revenue, retention and client satisfaction.
    • Provide clear visibility on risks, opportunities and trends across the vertical.
    • Use data and insight to drive informed decision-making.

About You - Your Background

  • Strong background in account management with ownership of complex client portfolios.
  • Commercially focused, with proven experience driving growth and retention.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong account planning discipline.
  • Confident leader and coach, able to challenge constructively and support development.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable operating in an environment with multiple priorities and dependencies.

This role is based in London.
