Vets Now Referrals Manchester is a leading referral hospital providing high-quality small animal care, including Emergency and Critical Care. Our hospital offers a structured Small Animal Rotating Internship for veterinarians seeking hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development in a multi-disciplinary environment. Role Overview We are excited to be taking applications for this 12-month internship starting on the 28th September 2026, it is suitable for recent graduates or veterinary surgeons with general practice experience. Interns rotate through Internal Medicine/Cardiology, Surgery, Emergency and Critical Care, with the option to choose additional elective rotations. The programme provides a strong foundation for further discipline-specific training or for building confidence in clinical case management across a diverse caseload. Key Responsibilities *As a Rotating Intern, you will: *Actively engage in all rotations, working closely with senior clinicians and specialists. *Conduct examinations, support diagnoses, and develop treatment plans under expert supervision. *Assist in surgeries, procedures, and emergency cases, gaining hands-on experience across multiple disciplines. *Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive, compassionate patient care. *Participate in seminars, journal clubs, workshops, and research opportunities to support continuous professional development. Requirements To apply, candidates must have: *A veterinary degree recognised by the RCVS. *RCVS registration (or eligibility to register). *Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship available for overseas applicants). *Strong communication and interpersonal skills. *Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with team members. *A proactive and adaptable approach to learning. Benefits *Salary: £32,000 per annum *Professional Costs Covered: VDS and RCVS registration fees *Leave: 7 weeks annual leave, plus your birthday off *Hands-On Experience: Active involvement in out-of-hours emergency care with primary case responsibility under supervision *Diverse Caseload: Exposure to a wide range of cases across multiple rotations *Learning & Development: *Comprehensive induction with lectures, workshops, and practical learning *Weekly seminars, in-house CPD opportunities, and RCVS Knowledge Library membership *£500 CPD allowance, Basic and Advanced Life Support training, and VECCS membership for one year *Mentorship: Dedicated clinical mentor and RCVS Vet GDP mentor for new graduates Inclusion & Diversity We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
